Taphos is designed to keep memorial research under your control. Longoria Apps does not sell memorial information, create advertising profiles from your archive, or require a separate Taphos account.
With your permission, Taphos may use the camera and photo library to capture, select, enhance, display, and preserve memorial photographs. Images may contain inscriptions, portraits, decorations, cemetery surroundings, or incidental people and objects.
Location Services may be used to record GPS coordinates, cemetery context, address information, and the position of a memorial on a map. This makes it possible to return to the memorial and organize nearby family records.
Taphos records may include names, birth and death dates, inscriptions, cemetery information, photographs, notes, military or historical details, family relationships, visit dates, and location coordinates.
Take care when adding notes about living individuals or information that is not already public.
When you choose AI-assisted transcription, Taphos sends the selected memorial image and the information needed for the request directly to the AI provider you selected. The provider returns a draft inscription for your review.
Longoria Apps does not receive the image, the prompt, the provider response, or your API key through a Longoria Apps server.
You supply your own API key. It is not embedded in the app and is not supplied by Longoria Apps. You can remove or replace the key through the app. Your use of the provider is governed by that provider’s terms, privacy policy, retention rules, and account settings.
Taphos may store records on your device and synchronize them through your private Apple iCloud and CloudKit environment when that feature is enabled. Longoria Apps does not operate a separate memorial-record database for your archive.
When you export, copy, print, or share a memorial record, the destination app, person, service, or website may receive the information you selected. Review the exported material before sharing it.
Records remain until you delete them from Taphos or from the Apple storage service where they are synchronized. Deleting the app may not automatically remove information retained in iCloud, exported files, backups, or copies you previously shared.
Taphos relies on Apple technologies such as Camera, Photos, Core Location, MapKit, iCloud, and CloudKit. Apple handles information under its own terms and privacy policies. Optional AI providers handle submitted content under their respective terms and privacy policies.
